Day 3 Our Bible point for today was "Even when you don't understand . . . Jesus loves you!" Here's how this all came together tonight. Lots of things needed our understanding!
Dr. Paws could not understand why the laughing lion venom is stuck in a bottle?! So hard to understand, and so funny!
In Bible Adventures everyone unexpectedly get their feet washed by crew leaders! There were lots of puzzled looks in the room, until they heard the story of the first apostles. They were puzzled too when Jesus washed their feet! They came to understand, in time, his message of service to all.
Wild Animals Games were also hard to understand at first. There were all these chairs, tables, buckets, etc. What were we to do?? It was an obstacle course, and soon we understood the game, and it was FUN!
Zoo Keeper games were also hard to understand at first. This relay, carrying water in a container with holes!, had players stand back to back and pass the water. It looked complicated, but it was great fun, once you understood!
Imagination Station with our zoo keepers also involved water and imagining you were on a beach with your feet in the water. We also got to spin two kinds of toy tops and were reminded that we can feel like a spinning top when we are confused and don't understand something.
Wild Animals Craft time was all about spreading the love of Jesus. We blew a colored bubble solution through a straw until there were piles of bubbles. That's how we feel when we share our love! Placing a paper over the top and gently peel it away. A lovely imprint from the bubbles remains. We made paper hearts with colored water to remind us to love others as Jesus loves us.
Critter cafe served up People Paws These treats are "handy" reminders that Jesus wants our actions to be sweet. These treats were served up in a hand shaped baggie. Our actions, the way we treat others, are to be sweet and kind!
SERVICE PROJECTS: Four crews raised their $10 and were able to sign a board for Habitat. We collected $122! And we're off to a great start with the school supply collection. Keep up the good work!
Ice Cream Social: All youth volunteers at VBS are invited to an ice cream social after all the weird animals leave on Thursday night. Help out with clean up and chill with some ice cream!
