Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS), a Montessori based religious education model, is a common religious experience involving children and adults in which the religious values of childhood, primarily those values of contemplation and enjoyment of God, are predominant. This experience is shared in a place particularly prepared for the religious life of children called the Atrium.
The sensory rich materials are made specifically for the children and invite them into the life of the Church. The atrium is a place of prayer and meditation. The quiet, slow-paced environment helps the children to know God, to wonder, grow, ask questions, and respond in their own way.CGS was started at Ss. John and Paul for 3 to 7 year-old children in fall of 2024. We have Level 1 and Level 2 sessions on Wednesdays from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. At this time the number of registrations for each session are limited to 12 for this year.
Level 1 - 3-6 year olds (Pre-K and K)
Level 2 - 6-7 year olds (1st and 2nd grades)
