Our Bible point for today is "even when you feel left out . . . Jesus loves you!"
Everyhting we did tonight made this point come alive!
We met Dr. Paws, a very funny but strange zoo keeper of wierd animals. He feels left out too, but he will learn right along with us, that Jesus' love is one of a kind!
We learned some great VBS songs to open up our night together!
In Bible Adventures we learned the story of Jesus healing the ten lepers. Some in our group had colored dots and they weren't allowed to participate, until Jesus came and cured them.
The Wild Animal group (ages 3-4-5) played with the parachute, but ONLY those who got the right colored sticker, until Jesus came and healed them and they could play too.
The Zoo Keepers (grades 1-5) played shrinking islands. As they lost their island (like musical chairs) they got to run through a line of high-fives, because no one is left out!
Our Wild Animals group searched through sand with a magnet to find a piece of metal. They also sprayed a paper plate with water and watched a magical color appear. Jesus is always there for us, even when we can't see him!
The Zoo Keepers Imagination Station explored water and floating. You would be surprised to know that an orange will float, but not if you take the peel off! Ask your kids what they learned about floating. The magic powder brought Axl, our weird sea creature, to the top just like Jesus gives US a lift!
Our Critter Cafe served up One-derful Parfaits. The cherry on top sort of got left out. It wasn't with all the other fruit on the bottom. It reminds us of Jesus' love but also that even when you feel left out, Jesus love you!.
