Tomorrow is Picture Day! Wear your VBS T-Shirts! Our Bible point for today was "Even though you're different . . . Jesus loves you!" Here's how this all came together tonight:
Our Sing and Play Stampede time has been filled with great songs. We have learned the following already:
All Around the World, Jesus Loves Me, God Loves Us, Give it Away, Forever Rain
We have a few more CD's for sale at $5 apiece!
Dr. Paws began the night searching for the right habitat for a very different pet.
Bible Adventures: We were all asked if we know someone who is a bit different, and then we were introduced to the Samaritan woman. Everyone treated her differently, except Jesus! He asked her for water and then he offered her living water. We decided that meant she would never want for anything more. How cool is that!
Wild Animal Games involved making masterpieces! First they had to get to the parking lot by moving like a weird, wild animal. Our parish parking lot has some very masterful artwork now!
Zoo Keeper Games was very challenging tonight, because it wasn't fair at all! Relay teams were formed and water had to be carried from one bucket to another that was 30 feet away. Each person on the team had a turn, however some had teaspoons while others had cups and another group had a water pitcher! That's not fair! Sometimes life is like that. Even when you feel different, Jesus loves you! They finished their game by making it even and every team was given a cup. Now the relay was fair!
At Imagination Station, the zoo keepers got to use the air to do Higher Fliers. These are all different colors and they go all different directions too, and ALL of them are really cool. What do you think happens when you hold up 2 balloons on either side of your mouth and blow between them? They come together!! Ask your kids . . . they saw it! Really different, but really cool.
Wild Animals Craft time also involved making masterpieces, this time with yarn, oat ring cereal, and fruit ring cereal. While they created their masterpieces they talked about being different. It's not bad to be different. It's OK because God made us for something special. They looked at their fingerprints too, under a magnifying glass! Everyone's was different. No two alike!
Critter cafe served up Masterpiece Munchies. These treats were like an art project! Everyone ate a yummy masterpiece. We were reminded that each of us is precious and beautiful on the inside too!
Don't forget our Service Projects! School supplies and $$ for Habitat. Thank you!
