Our parish expansion project will have two phases: 1) The renovation and expansion of our Faith Development Center (FDC) and 2) renovation and addition of a new parish hall and offices. To guide us in this exciting and important undertaking, Ss. John and Paul Parish has selected members for its Construction Steering Committee. Working as a subcommittee of the Finance Council, the members include Randy Majerus, Roger Merschman, Jeff Elwer, Jill Pudenz, Kirk Duer, Tom Duer and Steve Moyna.

In 2014 the parish facilities expansion committee worked with architect Robert Ridgway of Design Alliance in Waukee to address our growing pastoral needs and expansion of facilities.
In 2015 and 2016, the architect and parish representatives met with the Diocesan Building Commission and Bishop Pates, to present the products of our efforts. In his follow up letters, Bishop Pates voiced his support and formal approval: “Congratulations to you and the entire community of Ss. John and Paul for the remarkable progress that is being made in the renovation and expansion of the parish facilities. Qualitative and effective time has obviously been invested in the entire process. The site plan presents a very integrated approach to meeting the faith formation, parish operations and social needs of your growing parish. Great attention has been given to the process allowing the parish to arrive at a plan that will serve its long-term needs and from a funding perspective, be manageable. I want to assure the community of my personal support for this undertaking. May it be abundantly blessed.”
