A total of 55 fleece blankets were made over two days by 33 volunteers. Life After Fifty sent eight to Dorothy’s House (the Des Moines site serving human trafficking survivors), 12 went to the families participating in the Presence Under the Tree program here at Ss. John and Paul, and 23 to Ruth Buckels (for her work with human trafficking survivors). One will be given to the Habitat for Humanity family who purchased the house that our parish helped sponsor and build.
One blanket went to The Edge Pro in Ankeny for their generosity in sharpening all of Life After Fifty's rotary cutter blades for the last two years and also some of the scissors and other tools LAF uses. The other ten are reserved to be used throughout the year here in the parish as needed. LAF will make another seven or eight baby blankets, which will be delivered to Agape when they are finished.
