High School Summer Service Trip

July 9-15, 2023

This camp is an “Elevate” Catholic HEART Workcamp.  It is being offered to
students that are currently in the 8^th-12^th grades (2022/2023 school year)

10 spots are reserved for students. Three chaperones are also needed to drive and accompany the teens on this trip. Contact Maria Haas or sign up on this Google Form if you are interested in attending.

Costs:

• Total anticipated cost of the trip is $450 per person (includes camp registration, SSJP t-shirt, gas, meals while at camp and other miscellaneous expenses). 
• You may reserve your spot by paying this in full, or if you prefer, a down payment of $200.00 will hold your spot for this adventure!  A second payment of $250.00 will be due  May 1. 
• Fundraising opportunities will be available to help offset expenses with final adjustment being made prior to May 1.

Showers - are inside!  Separate adult and student locker rooms are available for both male and female. The majority of the showers are communal, so it is MANDATORY that all campers wear a bathing suit.
Program Area - The program area is in the school’s gym and is air conditioned.
Sleeping Arrangements - Campers sleep in classrooms and they are all air conditioned

Worksite Information:

We will be working in many different areas of the greater Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO areas. This will include minor home repair, such as general cleanup and repair, painting indoors and out, and general yard clean up.

We have rebuilt wheelchair ramps and put in new ramps in the past. There are a lot of major repairs at times that need expert trouble shooters; let us know if you’re one of those.













We also work with elderly and low-income agencies to help with general clean up. We work with an agency called Upper Room where we help young people keep up their learning skills, as well as learn to read, and work with arts and crafts.

Itinerary:

Our destination is a 3-4 hour drive. We will leave by 8:00 am on Sunday, July 9. We will return to Ss. John & Paul late Saturday evening, July 15.
